Abigail Marie Clancy Bio

Abigail Marie Clancy (born 10 January 1986) is an English catwalk model and lingerie model, and television personality. In 2006, she was the second-place winner of Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2) and in 2013, she was the winner of series 11 on Strictly Come Dancing. Since 2015, she has been Britain’s Next Top Model. Clancy is the fourth child of Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy and Geoff Thomas Clancy, was born in Liverpool. She was born in Woolton which is a region in Liverpool. She was a student at St Mary's Primary School, as well as St Julie's Catholic High school. Clancy was a member of the girl group Genie Queen and was managed by Andy McCluskey, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. Clancy was named as one thirteen finalist on Living TV’s Britain’s Next Top Model in summer 2006. He was a contestant for a modeling contract for a period of 10 weeks. Clancy made it to the final runway show alongside another contestant Lianna Fowler, becoming the second place winner. Clancy was the first model to appear on Britain's Next Top Model. In the month of May 2007 Clancy was featured on the cover of Arena magazine. He also modelled the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike. Clancy was chosen for Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue. Clancy was chosen for her closeness to Peter Crouch. She was photographed by Yu Tsai in only body paint, which made it appear like she was wearing the England shirt. Clancy was featured in Umbro's 2010 campaign. She wore an England shirt and was accompanied by other women of the winning teams. Clancy was a model for Giles Deacon's ready-to-wear Giles Spring 2011. She was a part of London designer Hasan Hejazi’s campaign in July 2013. The editorial was created by Absynth Photographyic, and the fashion film was by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy was also photographed for the August 2011 UK Esquire magazine cover by Solve Sundsbo. Clancy was one of the featured models in LOVE magazine's Advent Calendar, alongside SukiWaterhouse and Cara Delevingne. Clancy was on the cover British Marie Claire, July 2014, and British Elle, March 2015. In October 2019, Abbey Clancy and her daughter Sophia Crouch collaborated with Lipsy, a London-based fashion brand to launch the brand's AW'19 collection. The AW19 collection began to be launched in the UAE in January 2020.
